Can I Use A Bell Dish For Shaw

Long ago, ...

... ... that what I wrote over a month already, so is it finally time again for a short report. I'm still in Cartagena, the work has such a bissl leveled out and in general you can probably now say that a kind of daily routine in my life is turned around. Since then what explains the slightly longer break to write what it means does not mean that in the meantime so nothing happened. I have a few people know that I quite like to take what was a weekend at Playa Blanca Camp, Mathis from Sora was over a short visit, several power outages, a lot of rain and now that Halloween weekend with parades and parties.

But perhaps times slower.

My work here is no easier and a routine with the kids can be no question. must still I fight for every bit of attention, must lead one meetings and do a lot of work motivation. I am also not that this will change, it is precisely the central point of my work and if you think about it probably also what is important in dealing with the children really. Some I give now some guitar lessons, I try to teach others to read and write and I still am trying to awaken their interest in the theater, which is often very difficult. Some are ashamed others simply do not feel like anything. It's all frustrating sometimes, when one conceives a plan for an evening with various activities and the response and participation of children is the later close to zero. Often I have to call me then remembered that I do here is not to make me and the children should not work hard for me, but I'm doing this for them. And then it may be just that I have not found a way how I have to tackle the children properly. But the problem I'm not alone, other teachers, it is sometimes not much better. Whatever the case, my motivation is undiminished and I will keep trying my best.

Then I was like a weekend camping mentioned at Playa Blanca. Playa Blanca is one of the most beautiful beaches around here and it was really a nice weekend. First we took the bus to the good 20 kilometers away village Pasacaballos where we have set the ferry to the other side of the channel to the island of Baru and from there we took the bike for a good half hour on a holey, dusty trail toward the beach. My fascination with the moto taxis is unbroken! Arriving at the beach, we first set up the tent and then went swimming. Green turquoise sea, fine sand ... and a lot of tourists. Every day from Cartagena, Boat trips to various beaches and islands, and they also offered at the Playa Blanca stop. Towards evening, when the tourists had again passed to the city then turned in a little rest ... apart from the group of boy scouts who had pitched their tents right behind us. In the night we then have our first accident seen as was drowned in the pouring rain our tent and we had to take refuge under a nearby pavilion. Accompanied by thunder and lightning as I've never seen it before, we were sitting in wet clothes the rest of the night under the pavilion and defend ourselves with the forces attacking the mosquito hordes. They had it, ironically, only to except me, not my Colombian company which ultimately result in a frenzied yield of mosquito bites led to me. Alone on the right thigh after the weekend I had 64 stitches! After we had the next day, all things eventually hung up to dry the tent and made clean, we were first into a deep sleep until late afternoon. For the second night we were so smart to go with along with the tent pavilion among those that should be in view of the heavy rain again that night certainly was a good idea. Monday morning we went to the back of a truck, fully loaded with our singing scout friends back to the ferry. Much my adventure on the beach. pictures from the beach ...

This weekend I had my first little crisis here. It was the moment than was aware that the day had come. Some things were suddenly no longer perceived as strange and interesting, but as unpleasant and annoying. But as is so with the crises, they come and they go and a few days later the world was once again very different.

Last weekend was mentioned ... such as Halloween. and is widely celebrated here than in Germany in some parts of the carnival. The children were waiting for that day excited and engaged with them making their panels. Friday, I thought I'd get in Boquilla, the work area and a beach that afternoon there was a big parade of all the children of the neighborhood with music and dance. In fact I had dressed up a little, but not what I kept in front of tons of flour to get kicked in the face .... It was so hot! ... I was told. in any case everything was quite funny, there are pictures here .

Sunday night (Monday was a holiday) then it was for me the first time in a disco for the Halloween party. Was the event itself now not so gorgeous, but there were the costumes of some people. Since a few people have been pretty much trouble!

this morning (Tuesday) then again a little curiosity: rain!

is now rain in the rainy season, obviously not an oddity, however, where in 3 hours a piece from all pitchers poured see this already from quite different. We usually have a short but very heavy rain but today it was a very long heavy rain shower. The bridge in front of our house was completely flooded, the whole environment was very reminiscent of Venice, though the romantic atmosphere was lacking in our high-relocation. So much rain in such a short time I've ever seen. Actually I wanted to work, but the streets were simply not accessible. As quickly as the Water here, however, increases the level falls again. Two hours later, our little channel in front of the house of the raging river had shrunk back to a trickle. The damage in the ground floor flats which collapsed walls and the still ongoing power outage, however, still tell the story this morning.

So far so good, I'm curious what will happen here and I hope you my dear readers since it, too. I will do my best with the next report is not to wait so long promised, but nothing. Always depends on whether there is to report what and how I just in the mood.

photos are the days!

you soon! Hasta Luego! Besos!
